Learning from a Legacy | College Student Kyle Thomas Glasser Finds Inspiration from His Family’s Past

Kyle Thomas Glasser was  just a boy that cold early spring day in 1996 when his Uncle Kevin tragically ended his watch with the NYPD. Kevin Gillespie was gunned down, in cold blood, by a carjacker shortly before his 34th birthday. Even now, Gillespie remains an important influence on his nephew, Kyle Thomas Glasser, as Glasser makes his way towards medical school.

Gillespie’s drive and determination to overcome dyslexia and a dysfunctional family in order to graduate from the respected NYPD Academy has served to remind young Kyle that no obstacle is insurmountable. His uncle’s devotion to his family and interest in his community inspires Kyle Thomas Glasser to use his timely wisely, often tutoring undergraduate students and traveling abroad with his church for mission work. Kyle Thomas Glasser makes it a point to live for today but he uses reminders from the past to shape the future for the good of all.  Thanks to his hero, his Uncle Kevin, Kyle Thomas Glasser has a better understanding of exactly how to do just that.
