Charles C. Brennan is pleased that Dollar Loan Center has been named the best place to work in the Southern Nevada area for the second year in a row. The designation is given by Vegas Inc., a publication of Greenspun Media Group, according to Charles C. Brennan. With nearly 100 locations throughout the West, Charles C. Brennan says Dollar Loan Center is a customer-focused business that works hard to attract and retain the best employees in the business.
Recently, Charles C. Brennan spoke to Information Nation about what makes Dollar Loan Center such a great place to work.
Information Nation: How many Dollar Loan Center locations are in the South Nevada area?
Charles C. Brennan: We currently have 23 centers located in Las Vegas and Henderson.
Information Nation: And I noticed your company was mentioned not only for its great work environment, but also for your work in the community.
Charles C. Brennan: One of the things Dollar Loan Center prides itself on is that we always make an effort to be a part of each community in which we have a store. This is as true in Las Vegas as in all of our other locations.
Information Nation: We have seen you mentioned quite a bit in conjunction with Dollar Loan Center’s charitable giving.
Charles C. Brennan: Yes, but it’s important to note that the work we do to support charities is a group effort. Our employees are personally involved in the organizations we support and the work we do in the community.
Information Nation: Could you tell us a little about your charitable giving?
Charles C. Brennan: Dollar Loan Center supports a variety of local organizations, including Opportunity Village, an organization that provides programs to help those living with disabilities.
Information Nation: You also support children’s causes, as well…
Charles C. Brennan: We provide support to the Henderson Little League, giving money each year to help support children’s sports.
Information Nation: You’re also the owner of a center that provides youth the opportunity to learn music. Could you tell us a little about the Rock & Roll Academy?
Charles C. Brennan: I founded the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to provide members of the Boys and Girls Clubs the ability to learn about rock and roll.
Information Nation: Through your academy, you’ve also raised quite a bit for charity…
Charles C. Brennan: At our grand opening alone, we were able to raise $1.2 million to go toward the Boys and Girls Clubs.
Information Nation: Tell us a little about what makes Dollar Loan Center such a great work environment.
Charles C. Brennan: We provide profit-sharing opportunities to our employees that help them feel as though they are a part of the business. When Dollar Loan Center does well, these employees do well. It’s very motivating.
Information Nation: Sounds like it is.
Charles C. Brennan: We also promote an “attitude of gratitude” in each of our centers that we find is passed on to the customers. When the employees are happy, the customers are happy, so it’s very important to us to keep each center’s work environment positive.
